A new system has just been released to improve the harvestable plants distribution.
Our harvesting system hasn't been updated in many years, and it was about time! Today, we are introducing a new update (server-side only, so no downloads are required) that changes the way plants are spawned and harvested.
Previously, plants were located in fixed spots, and you could harvest them indefinitely. The new system defines a group of locations as possible spawning points for a plant or flower. Two of these locations are spawned immediately, while the others are used randomly when a player depletes one location. This way, you will see a plant disappear after you harvest it, and you will have to explore and search for a new spawn point.
Along with the new system, we have completely redefined the spawning locations. There are now 640+ locations across the world, with 70+ active at the same time. We plan to see how it plays out and gather your feedback. We have multiple variables we can adjust, such as respawn time, harvesting amount, skill levels, etc. We can also add more spawn points in the future.
We have not yet populated areas of the map that require significant changes, those will be updated later.
